Hello #metalheads, “it’s always heavy in here”! We are excited to bring you this special interview, recorded in the Metal Mayhem ROC Studios in Rochester, NY. Metal Forever Mark and the Vernomatic had the opportunity to speak with the Legendary John Bush from Armored Saint. Bush gives insight on the latest Armored Saint release “Punching The Sky” and how the band has been promoting the release without playing live. The guys take a walk down Heavy Metal memory lane with tales from the famous 1985 tour "Ride the Lightning" tour with headlining W.A.S.P., Metallica and followed by Armored Saint. John participates in staple show segment MT. RUSHMORE OF METAL with his top 4 metal singers...listen to see who!
Leaders and stalwarts of the American heavy metal scene since the early 80s, Armored Saint's eighth full-length album Punching The Sky sees them returning with a hard, diverse, attitude-drenched collection. It's everything that faithful followers have come to expect from them while pushing their signature sound forward. "The goal is to write really good music. I know I'm stating the obvious here but that's about the size of our agenda," says bassist Joey Vera. "We've been able to shed a lot of expectations that sometimes plague a band like ours that has been around a long time, and we've recently moved into a comfort zone with just being ourselves. This record is a reflection of where we’re at, right now."
With the band's place in the metal scene firmly reestablished with Punching The Sky, they are staring down their four decade anniversary, which Vera reflects on. "Part of me feels like I can't believe we've been doing this for that long. It's kind of incredible. So I feel pretty damn lucky really, that we've been able to have the support from fans and our record company for all these years. Without this support, we really couldn't do any of this. So this is the big part of what has kept us going, and when I stop and look around, I am humbled that we've had this opportunity to make music and tour for such a long time. That's what our initial goal was back when we were just 18 years old."

Jon “THE VERNOMATIC“ Verno brings in 2021 with a catch up interview with Steve “LIPS” Kudrow from ANVIL to discuss the 2020 release of LEGAL AT LAST CD. Lips shares the details of how the 2020 European tour was abruptly cancelled and how they have kept busy during the COVID-19 Layoff.
Anvil are a Canadian heavy metal band from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 1978. The band now consists of Steve "Lips" Kudlow (vocals, guitar), Robb Reiner (drums), and Chris Robertson (bass). As of 2020, the band has released eighteen studio albums, and had been cited as having influenced many notable heavy metal groups, including Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax and Metallica
The band, in particular Kudlow and Reiner, was the subject of the 2008 documentary film, Anvil! The Story of Anvil, directed by the screenwriter and former Anvil roadie Sacha Gervasi. Upon its release, the film garnered critical acclaim from many major publications, and has since brought the band renewed recognition, including opening slots with AC/DC and Saxon. Appearances at major heavy metal festivals, including Download, Loud Park and Hellfest, and independent music festivals like Bumbershoot and SXSW, also followed the release of the film
Vernomatic gets the inside scoop on the positive effects of the Documentary on the band, and how THIS period is there “GLORY DAYS”. The guys also reminisce about the early days of anvil and how the band transitioned from 70’s hard rock act to an 80s Metal band which leads to Lips sharing a secret about the “MOTOR CITY MADMAN’’ Ted Nugent.
Vernomatic welcomes Metal Mayhem ROC Correspondent “SOUTHERN CAL” to the show. Cal provides commentary on the band, An in-depth review of the new LEGAL AT LAST CD as well a sample of a few choice cuts from the disc.

From AC/DC to ZZ Top, meet the man who has met so many iconic bands. Dean is from downstate New York, followed his passion for Rock n Roll and created a book that captures his journey over the last 35 years.
His book includes autographs, ticket passes, guitar pics and photos from backstage parties, tour bus shenanigans and random run-in's. It's a great story and just proves that anything is possible if you just put your mind to it and believe in ROCK N ROLL!

Jon "The Vernomatic " Verno and Metal Forever Mark welcome Metal Mayhem ROC show correspondent "Metal Walt" to the show. The guys discuss "Metal Walts " 30 plus years of following hard rock and heavy metal bands around the world, and capturing there live concerts.
Walt shares what propelled him to start recording concerts, the lessons learned along the way and the chance meetings with some of his rock Idols.

Heavy Holiday Metal Heads!
They say it's better to give than to receive, so we're doing our part and handing out a dose of old school metal. We did some research and was able to locate Katon De Pena from legendary 80's thrash/metal band HIRAX for lesson in the history of thrash.
Jon "The Vernomatic" Verno is joined by MM Roc's Show Producer Mike Anthony for a deep dive into the history of HIRAX. Katon explains what it was like for heavier bands like Hirax, Metallica, Slayer and Dark Angel in glam metal infested LA in the early 80's and what led to the eventual migration to San Francisco.
Other topics covered include the history of Rampage Radio and the record vault and what really went down at Fender ballroom in Long Beach, California.
If you're unfamiliar with the band than you're in store for a lesson in the history of thrash, from one of the pioneer's of the movement. Katon shares insight on what Hirax is up to in 2020 and gives us his Mt. Rushmore of Metal gigs.
